Dear Mesquite Families,
We are excited to be implementing the 7 Mindsets this year, based on three years of research that focused on extensive personal achievement studies, 400 interviews of the most successful people, and the deconstruction of over 200 books based on success and happiness to find out what the world’s happiest and successful people have in common. What emerged was their mindset. A mindset is a way of thinking one believes in. These people all have a set of 7 mental habits foundational to living an enriched life that serves as a blueprint for happiness, intentionality, and success. A description of the 7 is on the last page.

To help your children be happy and successful now, be a cheerleader for them. Don’t let the morning rush keep you from sending them off to school without words and actions of encouragement.

 Give them a hug before they go out the door or are dropped off.
 Put a note in their lunch box or back pack letting them know you care.
 Hang up their work from school on the refrigerator or a special place. Use the school magnet that was given at Meet the Teacher and Open House. If you did not get one, please call the office, and we will send one home.
 Let them hear you say good things about them to others.
 Slow down in the morning and share with them what you are looking forward to in the day and ask them to share too. Follow up with what was interesting when you are together again after school.

Your children are precious to us!
